Water is plentiful
It is absurd for us to have a major drought anywhere.
The world's engineers could easily do a better job of tapping all the rivers and drilling more water wells.
We could also tap the ocean efficiently by desalination -- or save rainwater more enthusiastically.
All that is needed is a good piping system to deliver it where it is needed. That is a pretty simple job.
The pipes could be put next to highways -- or underground-- like subways.
I was taught in grammar school that water never disappears. That might not be absolutely true --
there might be some under ground that would be essentially impossible to retrieve.
For the most part, though, -- we have all the water we need -- it simply is not in the right place,
brackish or salty.
