REPORT DEAD LINKS --- we can't keep this site up-to-date without your help

History of money -- results from a Google search for " Money" + "History" -- top 13 results. 9/26/09
-- Plus some original material

Note: Reading about the history of money may do more harm than good -- particular to a beginner. Most of us tend to believe what we read. When we are first learning about a subject, we can easily be led astray by a clever writer.

Remember -- don't believe everything you read at the links below -- believe only those things that agree with your own common sense.

In many instances the exact same false information can be found on a number of sites. It is very hard to reject information we see in numerous places -- it is simply human to accept what we see repeated. Don't fall into that trap.

Be particularly careful about accepting things as being true because they come from an authoritative source. In many instances, authoritative sources have a strong motivation to lie in an effort to maintain their status. The Federal Reserve lies almost all the time --even when they have no need to abandon the truth -- it is a shame.

The fact that we use the word "confirmed" in the title of this link does NOT mean we have confirmed the truth of each source -- it only means that the article is confirmed to deal with the history of money.

Based on a book by the late Murray Rothbard. He is a very convincing writer -- but he is misguided on some very basic concepts. For instance he focuses only on the quantity of money when writing about inlation and virtually ignores the amount of buyable wealth.

Mr. Zarlenga is admirably trying to blaze new trails, but it is apparent to me after a couple of conversations and an exchange of emails that he is averse to ideas that do not parallel his. (mrc)
